👩‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. Activate yeast:
    Mix yeast with warm milk and a little sugar. Let sit 5–10 minutes until foamy.

  1. Make the dough:
    In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt.
  2. Add egg yolks, melted butter, rum, and yeast mixture.
  3. Knead until smooth and elastic (8–10 minutes).

  1. First rise:
    Cover and let rise for 1–1.5 hours until doubled.

  1. Shape donuts:
    Roll out dough to about 1–1.5 cm thick.
  2. Cut into rounds using a glass or cutter.
  3. Let rest for 20–30 minutes.

  1. Fry:
    Heat oil to medium heat.
  2. Fry donuts for 2–3 minutes per side until golden.
  3. Flip once and fry covered for the first side (traditional method for the “ring”).

  1. Finish:
    Drain on paper towels.
  2. Dust with powdered sugar and serve with apricot jam.
