
Ingredients:
- 1 pack phyllo dough (thawed)
- ½ cup butter
- 1 ½ cups ground poppy seeds
- ¾ cup sugar
- ½ cup milk
- 1 tbsp lemon zest
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions:
- Melt butter in a pan and cook until golden brown (nutty aroma). Set aside.
- In a saucepan, combine poppy seeds, sugar, milk, lemon zest, and vanilla. Cook until thick, then cool.
- Lay out one sheet of phyllo, brush with brown butter. Repeat with 4–5 layers.
- Spread filling along one edge.
- Roll tightly into a log.
- Place on baking tray and brush top with more brown butter.
- Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 25–30 minutes until golden and crisp.
- Cool slightly and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
