Ingredients (Serves 6)

  • 2 lbs (900 g) ground pork (or pork & beef mix)
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 slices bread, soaked in milk and squeezed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1½ tsp Hungarian sweet paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp marjoram
  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley
  • 3–4 hard-boiled eggs (for the center)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet or lightly grease a loaf pan.
  2. Prepare mixture:
    In a large bowl, combine ground meat, onion, garlic, soaked bread, raw eggs, paprika, salt, pepper, marjoram, and parsley. Mix gently until combined.
  3. Shape & fill:
    Place half of the meat mixture on the baking sheet and form a log.
    Arrange peeled hard-boiled eggs in a line down the center.
    Cover with remaining meat and seal edges, shaping into a loaf.
  4. Bake:
    Bake for 50–60 minutes until cooked through and nicely browned.
  5. Rest & slice:
    Let rest 10 minutes before slicing to reveal the egg center.
