Instructions
- Marinate the beef:
In a bowl, toss beef with soy sauce, cornstarch, oil, and garlic powder.
Let it marinate for 15–20 minutes (or longer if you have time). - Prepare the sauce:
In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, vinegar, sugar, broth, cornstarch, and pepper. Set aside. - Sear the beef:
Heat a large skillet or wok over high heat.
Add 1 tablespoon oil, then sear the beef in batches for 1–2 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside. - Sauté vegetables:
In the same pan, add a little more oil if needed.
Stir-fry onions, bell peppers, and garlic for about 3–4 minutes, until tender-crisp. - Combine & simmer:
Return the beef to the pan.
Pour in the prepared sauce and stir well.
Cook for 2–3 minutes, until the sauce thickens and coats everything nicely. - Serve sizzling hot:
Serve immediately over steamed rice, noodles, or cauliflower rice.
Garnish with green onions or sesame seeds if desired.
🍽️ Tips & Variations
- Add a dash of chili oil or crushed red pepper for spice.
- Substitute chicken or tofu for the beef for a lighter version.
- To make it extra “sizzling,” heat a cast-iron skillet before serving and pour the stir-fry over it just before eating — it’ll sizzle beautifully!
Would you like me to give you a restaurant-style sizzling plate version (with the sauce caramelized on a hot iron plate)? It’s incredibly aromatic and fun to serve!
