Red Velvet Cream Cheese Brownies

Instructions

  1. Prep oven
    • Preheat to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment.
  2. Make brownie base
    • In a bowl, whisk melted butter, sugar, vanilla, food coloring, and vinegar.
    • Add eggs and whisk until smooth.
    • Sift in flour, cocoa, and salt. Mix gently until just combined.
  3. Make cream cheese swirl
    • Beat cream cheese, sugar, egg yolk, and vanilla until smooth and creamy.
  4. Assemble
    • Pour most of the brownie batter into the pan, reserving about ¼ cup.
    • Spread cream cheese mixture over it.
    • Drop spoonfuls of the reserved red batter on top and swirl with a knife for a marbled effect.
  5. Bake
    • Bake 30–35 minutes, until set but still slightly fudgy in the center.
    • Cool completely before cutting into squares.

👉 These brownies taste even better after chilling a bit — the cheesecake swirl sets beautifully.

Would you like me to also give you a layered bar version (more cream cheese filling, almost like a red velvet cheesecake bar) for a richer dessert?
