Ingredients
- 1 lb (450g) ground beef
- 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup (10.5 oz / 300g)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Brown the ground beef with chopped onions in a skillet, drain excess fat.
- In a large bowl, mix sour cream, cream of mushroom soup, salt, and pepper.
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes in a greased baking dish.
- Add half of the beef mixture over the potatoes, then half of the cheese.
- Repeat layers with remaining potatoes, beef, and cheese.
- Pour the sour cream mixture evenly over the top.
- Cover with foil and bake for 50–60 minutes, or until potatoes are tender.
- Remove foil for the last 10 minutes to brown the top.
