
Instructions:
- Make the batter:
- In a bowl, mix flour and salt.
- Add eggs and water.
- Stir until you get a soft, sticky dough (thicker than pancake batter, softer than bread dough).
- Boil water:
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
- Form the dumplings:
- Use a spaetzle maker, colander, or spoon to drop small pieces of dough into the boiling water.
- Cook:
- Cook for 2–3 minutes.
- When dumplings float to the surface, they are done.
- Drain:
- Remove with a slotted spoon and drain well.
- Optional finish:
- Toss with a little butter or oil to prevent sticking.
