Ingredients
For the Meat Filling:
- 1 lb (450g) ground beef or turkey
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup (150g) mixed vegetables (frozen or fresh – peas, carrots, corn)
- 1/2 cup (120ml) tomato sauce or crushed tomatoes
- 1/4 cup (60ml) beef or chicken broth
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp dried thyme or oregano
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
For the Mashed Potatoes:
- 4–5 medium potatoes, peeled and chopped
- 1/2 cup (120ml) milk or heavy cream
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1/2 cup (50g) shredded cheddar or mozzarella (optional)
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
For the Topping:
- 1/2 cup (50g) shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or parmesan)
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
