- Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.

- Heat milk and sugar in a saucepan until warm.
- In a bowl, whisk egg yolks with cornstarch and vanilla.
- Slowly add some warm milk to the egg mixture, whisking continuously.
- Return everything to the pot and cook until thickened.
