- Cook potatoes:
Boil potatoes until tender, drain, and mash until smooth. Let cool. - Make the dough:
Mix mashed potatoes with egg, butter, salt, and enough flour to form a soft dough.
- Prepare plums:
Mix sugar with cinnamon. Place a little inside each pitted plum.
- Shape dumplings:
Roll dough out and cut into squares. - Place one plum in each square and wrap the dough around it, sealing well to form a ball.
- Cook dumplings:
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. - Add dumplings and cook until they float to the top (about 5–7 minutes).
- Prepare coating:
Melt butter in a pan, add breadcrumbs and sugar, and toast until golden. - Roll cooked dumplings in the breadcrumb mixture.
