- Sauté base:
Heat oil or lard in a large pot. Add onions and cook slowly until soft and golden. - Remove from heat and stir in paprika.
- Cook meat:
Add beef and mix well with the onion-paprika base. - Return to heat and cook until the meat releases juices.
- Build flavor:
Add garlic, tomato, green pepper, and caraway seeds. Season with salt and pepper.
- Simmer:
Pour in broth, cover, and cook on low heat for about 1–1.5 hours until meat starts to become tender.
Add vegetables:
Add carrots and potatoes, then continue cooking for another 20–30 minutes until everything is tender.
