Instructions:

  1. Activate the yeast:
    • Mix warm milk, yeast, and a little sugar.
    • Let sit 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Make the dough:
    • In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt.
    • Add eggs, melted butter, and yeast mixture.
    • Knead until smooth and elastic (about 10 minutes).
  3. First rise:
    • Cover and let dough rise for 1–1.5 hours until doubled in size.
  4. Shape the dough:
    • Roll out dough and cut into long strips.
    • Wrap strips around a lightly greased cylindrical mold (wooden rolling pin or chimney cake form), slightly overlapping.
  5. Coat:
    • Brush with melted butter.
    • Roll in sugar until fully coated.
  6. Bake:
    • Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F).
    • Place on a baking tray and bake for 15–20 minutes, rotating occasionally, until golden and caramelized.
  7. Finish:
    • While still hot, roll in your favorite toppings (cinnamon sugar, nuts, coconut, etc.).
