Hungarian apple cake (Almás pite)


👩‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. Make the dough:
    Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add butter and rub until crumbly.
  2. Add egg yolks and sour cream. Knead into a smooth dough.
  3. Divide into two parts and chill for 30 minutes.

    Grate apples and squeeze out excess juice.
  2. Mix with sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice.

  1. Assemble:
    Roll out one dough portion and place in a greased baking pan.
  2. Sprinkle breadcrumbs over the base.
  3. Spread apple filling evenly.
  4. Roll out the second dough and place on top. Seal edges and prick with a fork.
