
👨🍳 Instructions
1. Cook the green beans
- Bring salted water to a boil.
- Add green beans and cook until tender (10–15 minutes).
- Drain and set aside.
2. Make the base
- Heat oil or butter in a pan.
- Add chopped onion and cook until soft.
- Add garlic and cook briefly.
3. Make the roux (rántás)
- Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute.
- Remove from heat and add paprika (important to avoid burning).
- Mix well.
4. Build the stew
- Slowly add water or broth while stirring to avoid lumps.
- Add cooked green beans and bay leaf.
- Simmer for 10 minutes until slightly thickened.
5. Finish with cream
- Mix sour cream with a little hot liquid from the stew.
- Stir back into the pot.
- Add vinegar (or lemon juice) and a little sugar.
- Season with salt and pepper.

- Serve warm as a main dish or side
