👩‍🍳 Instructions

Make the Beef & Gravy

  1. Heat oil in a large pot or skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Season beef with salt and pepper, then brown on all sides. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, sauté onion until soft. Add garlic and cook 30 seconds.
  4. Sprinkle flour over onions and stir for 1 minute.
  5. Slowly whisk in beef broth to avoid lumps.
  6. Add Worcestershire sauce, paprika, mushrooms (if using), and return beef to the pan.
  7. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer 45–60 minutes, stirring occasionally, until beef is tender and gravy thickens.

Make the Mashed Potatoes

  1. Boil potatoes in salted water until fork-tender (15–20 minutes).
  2. Drain well and mash with butter and warm milk.
  3. Season with salt and pepper until creamy and smooth.

🍽 Serve

Spoon creamy mashed potatoes onto plates and top generously with beef and gravy. Serve hot.
