- Make the Crust

- Make the Custard
- In a saucepan, whisk together egg yolks, sugar, cornstarch, and salt.
- Gradually whisk in warm milk and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened.
- Remove from heat, add vanilla, and let cool slightly.
- Assemble the Pie
- Pour the custard into the baked crust.
- Arrange caramelized apples on top and lightly press them into the custard.
- Bake & Serve
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20–25 minutes, until set and lightly golden.
