  • Pinch of salt

For the Filling:

  • 1 cup (240 ml) whole milk
  • 3 large egg yolks
  • ½ cup (100 g) sugar
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup (115 g) unsalted butter, softened
  • Optional: 1 tbsp strong coffee or coffee liqueur (traditional touch!)

For Decoration:

  • Finely ground walnuts or whole walnut halves
