- 1½ lbs (700g) ground pork or beef (or mix)
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2–3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 slices of bread, soaked in milk then squeezed out
- 1 egg (for binding)
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1½ tsp sweet Hungarian paprika
- 1 tsp marjoram (optional)
- 1 tsp mustard (optional)
- 2–3 hard-boiled eggs (for center)
- Breadcrumbs, for coating
