Hungarian Meatballs (Fasírt)

Ingredients:

  • 500 g ground pork (or pork + beef mix)
  • 1 small onion, finely grated or chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tbsp breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp Hungarian sweet paprika
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2–3 tbsp milk or water
  • Oil for frying

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, mix ground meat, onion, garlic, egg, breadcrumbs, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  2. Add milk or water to make the mixture soft and well combined.
  3. Shape into small balls or flat patties.
  4. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
  5. Fry until golden brown on all sides and fully cooked inside (about 6–10 minutes).
  6. Drain on paper towels.
