🫓 Lángos (Hungarian Fried Flatbread)

Ingredients:

  • 500 g all-purpose flour
  • 7 g dry yeast
  • 300 ml warm water or milk
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • Oil for frying

Optional toppings:

  • Garlic water
  • Sour cream
  • Grated cheese

Instructions:

  1. Dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water or milk. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour and salt.
  3. Add the yeast mixture and oil, then knead into a soft dough.
  4. Cover and let rise for about 1 hour until doubled.
  5. Divide dough into 6–8 pieces.
  6. Stretch each piece into a flat round.
  7. Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat.
  8. Fry each piece for 1–2 minutes per side until golden brown.
  9. Drain on paper towels.
