Hungarian Sponge Cake Roll (Piskóta Tekercs) – Don’t Lose This Recipe!

Ingredients:

Sponge:

  • 6 eggs
  • 6 tbsp sugar
  • 6 tbsp flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder (optional)
  • Pinch of salt

Filling:

Hungarian Recipes
  • Apricot jam or any jam
  • or chocolate cream / whipped cream

Instructions:

  1. Separate eggs and beat egg whites until stiff.
  2. Whisk egg yolks with sugar until light and creamy.
  3. Gently fold in flour and egg whites.
  4. Spread batter on a baking tray lined with paper.
  5. Bake at 180°C for 10–12 minutes until light golden.
  6. Turn out onto a clean towel, remove paper, and roll while warm.
  7. Let cool, then unroll and spread filling.
  8. Roll again tightly and slice.
