Hungarian Cottage Cheese & Pudding Nest Rolls – Don’t Lose This Recipe!

Ingredients:

Dough:

  • 500 g flour
  • 250 ml milk
  • 30 g fresh yeast (3 dkg)
  • 50 g butter
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 2–3 tbsp sugar

Filling:

  • 400 g cottage cheese (túró)
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2–3 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla sugar
  • 1 packet vanilla pudding (cooked and cooled)

Instructions:

  1. Dissolve yeast in warm milk with a little sugar.
  2. Knead flour, butter, salt, sugar, and yeast mixture into a soft dough.
  3. Let rise for about 40 minutes.
  4. Prepare cottage cheese filling and cooled pudding separately.
  5. Roll out dough and cut into squares.
  6. Add fillings in the center and shape into small “nests.”
  7. Place on baking tray and let rest 15–20 minutes.
  8. Bake at 180°C until golden.
  9. Let cool slightly before serving.
