🇭🇺 Hungarian Lángos

🧾 Ingredients:

  • 500 g all-purpose flour
  • 7 g dry yeast (or 20 g fresh yeast)
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 300 ml warm water (or milk)
  • 2 tbsp oil (plus more for frying)

Toppings:

  • 2–3 garlic cloves (crushed)
  • 100 ml sour cream
  • 150 g grated cheese

👩‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and oil, then mix into a soft dough.
  3. Knead the dough for 8–10 minutes until smooth. Cover and let it rise for 1 hour, until doubled in size.
  4. Divide into small balls and let rest for 10–15 minutes. Flatten each into a round disc.
  5. Heat oil in a pan and fry each piece for 1–2 minutes per side until golden brown.
  6. While hot, rub with garlic, spread sour cream, and sprinkle with cheese.
