For the Chicken Paprikas:
- 1 kg chicken (thighs or drumsticks)
- 2 tbsp oil or lard
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp Hungarian sweet paprika
- 1 tomato, chopped (or 2 tbsp canned)
- 1 green pepper, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 200 ml sour cream
- 1 tbsp flour
- Salt and black pepper (to taste)
- 300–400 ml water or chicken broth
For the Spaetzle (Nokedli):
- 250 g all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs
- 100 ml water
- 1/2 tsp salt
