📝 Ingredients:

Sponge Cake:

  • 4 large eggs
  • 100 g (½ cup) sugar
  • 80 g (⅔ cup) all-purpose flour
  • 20 g (2 tbsp) cocoa powder

Cream Filling:

  • 500 ml (2 cups) milk
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour or cornstarch
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 200 g (7 oz) butter, softened

Toppings:

  • 50–100 g walnuts, chopped
  • 50 g raisins (optional, soaked in rum or water)
  • 100 g dark chocolate, melted
  • Whipped cream (optional)

🥣 Instructions:

1. Make the sponge cake:

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Beat eggs with sugar until fluffy.
  3. Gently fold in flour and cocoa powder.
  4. Spread in a greased baking pan and bake for 15–20 minutes. Let cool, then cut into small cubes.

2. Prepare the cream:

  1. In a saucepan, heat milk and sugar.
  2. Mix flour or cornstarch with a little cold milk, then stir into the hot milk. Cook until thickened.
  3. Let cool slightly, then beat in butter and vanilla until smooth.

3. Assemble:

  1. In a serving dish, layer sponge cubes, cream, walnuts, and raisins. Repeat layers if desired.
  2. Pour melted chocolate over the top.
  3. Chill for at least 2 hours before serving.
  4. Optionally, add whipped cream on top for extra indulgence.
