Ingredients
- 500 g (4 cups) bread flour
- 1½ tsp salt
- 1 tsp sugar
- 7 g (1 packet) dry yeast
- 320 ml (1⅓ cups) warm water
- 1 tbsp oil (optional)
Instructions
- In a bowl mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit 5–10 minutes until foamy.
- Add flour and salt and mix into a dough.
- Knead the dough for 8–10 minutes until smooth.
- Cover and let it rise for 1 hour until doubled.
- Shape into 2 loaves and place on a baking tray.
- Let rise again for 30 minutes.
- Cut a few slashes on top.
- Bake at 220°C (425°F) for 30–35 minutes until golden brown.
