
These tender, nutty cookies from Hungary are buttery, lightly sweet, and melt in your mouth. Often made with ground walnuts, they’re especially popular during the holidays — but delicious anytime!
📝 Ingredients
- 2 cups finely ground walnuts
- 1½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup (225 g) unsalted butter, softened
- ½ cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 pinch salt

1️⃣ Prepare the Dough
- In a bowl, cream butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add vanilla and salt.
- Stir in ground walnuts.
- Gradually mix in flour until a soft dough forms.
- Chill 30–60 minutes.
2️⃣ Shape
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Roll dough into small balls or crescent shapes.
- Place on lined baking sheet.
3️⃣ Bake
- Bake 12–15 minutes until lightly golden (not dark).
4️⃣ Finish
- While still warm, roll cookies in powdered sugar.
- Let cool completely and dust again if desired.
