
Ingredients
- 12 oz (340 g) egg noodles
- 1 small head cabbage, finely shredded
- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
- 3 tablespoons oil or butter
- 1 teaspoon sugar (optional, for caramelizing)
- 1 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
Directions
- Cook egg noodles in salted water according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
- Heat oil or butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion and cook until soft.
- Add shredded cabbage and sprinkle with sugar (if using). Cook 20–25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until cabbage is tender and deeply caramelized.
- Season with salt and black pepper.
- Add cooked noodles to the skillet and toss well to combine. Cook 2–3 more minutes.
- Serve hot.
