Ingredients (Makes ~12–15 cookies)
- 1 cup (125 g) all-purpose flour
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ¼ tsp salt
- ½ cup (115 g) unsalted butter, softened
- ½ cup (100 g) sugar
- ½ cup (110 g) brown sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 large egg
- Optional: ½ cup chocolate chips, nuts, or raisins
Instructions
- Preheat oven: 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Mix dry ingredients: Whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt in a small bowl.
- Cream butter and sugars: In a large bowl, beat butter, sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy. Add egg and vanilla, mix well.
- Combine: Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients. Stir until just combined. Fold in optional mix-ins.
- Shape cookies: Scoop tablespoons of dough onto the baking sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart.
- Bake: 10–12 minutes, until edges are lightly golden.
- Cool & serve: Let cookies cool on the sheet 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
