
🇭🇺 Hungarian Potato Pancakes (Tócsni / Krumplilángos)
Ingredients:
- 4 medium potatoes, peeled and grated
- 1 small onion, finely grated
- 1 egg
- 2–3 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 clove garlic, minced (optional)
- Oil for frying
Instructions:
- Prepare mixture:
Place grated potatoes in a clean towel and squeeze out excess liquid.
In a bowl, combine potatoes, onion, egg, flour, salt, pepper, and garlic. - Heat oil:
Heat a thin layer of oil in a skillet over medium heat. - Fry pancakes:
Spoon mixture into pan and flatten slightly.
Fry 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy. - Drain:
Place on paper towels to remove excess oil.
Serve:
- With sour cream
- With grated cheese
- Or as a side to meat dishes
