
Ingredients:
- 1 lb (450 g) ground beef (or mix of beef & pork)
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 egg
- ½ cup (50 g) breadcrumbs
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp sweet Hungarian paprika
- Salt & black pepper to taste
- 2–3 tbsp oil for frying
Optional sauce:
- 1 cup tomato sauce or sour cream-based sauce
Instructions:
- Mix meatball mixture:
In a bowl, combine ground meat, onion, egg, breadcrumbs, garlic, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined. - Form meatballs:
Shape mixture into small balls, about 1–1.5 inches in diameter. - Cook meatballs:
Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry meatballs until golden brown on all sides and cooked through (about 10–12 minutes). - Optional sauce:
- For tomato sauce: simmer meatballs in sauce 5–10 minutes.
- For creamy style: stir in sour cream at the end and heat gently.
Serve hot with mashed potatoes, noodles, or rice.
