Palacsinta (Hungarian Pancakes) – Recipe Only

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 tbsp melted butter (plus more for cooking)

Optional Fillings:

  • Jam (apricot, strawberry, or plum)
  • Sweetened cottage cheese
  • Nutella or chocolate spread

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, and salt.
  2. Add eggs and milk gradually, mixing until smooth.
  3. Stir in melted butter; let batter rest 15–20 minutes.
  4. Heat a lightly buttered non-stick pan over medium heat.
  5. Pour a small amount of batter, tilting the pan to spread thinly.
  6. Cook 1–2 minutes per side until lightly golden.
  7. Remove and fill with desired filling; roll or fold.
  8. Serve warm, dusted with powdered sugar if desired.
