Hungarian Layered Potato Casserole (Rakott Krumpli)

Ingredients

  • 1 kg potatoes, boiled & sliced
  • 4 hard-boiled eggs, sliced
  • 250 g smoked sausage (kolbász), sliced
  • 300 g sour cream
  • 2 tbsp oil or butter
  • Salt, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C / 350°F.
  2. Grease a baking dish.
  3. Layer potatoes, salt lightly.
  4. Add eggs and sausage.
  5. Spread some sour cream.
  6. Repeat layers, ending with sour cream.
  7. Drizzle with oil or dot with butter.
  8. Bake 40–45 minutes until golden.

Serve hot, traditionally with pickles or green salad.
