
Krumplis Tészta (Hungarian Potatoes & Noodles)
Ingredients
- 500 g egg noodles (wide)
- 500 g potatoes, peeled & diced
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 3 tbsp oil or lard
- 1½ tsp sweet Hungarian paprika
- Salt, to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper (optional)
Instructions
- Boil noodles in salted water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Boil potatoes in salted water until tender. Drain and mash (slightly chunky).
- Heat oil/lard in a pan. Sauté onion until golden.
- Remove pan from heat, stir in paprika.
- Add mashed potatoes, season with salt (and pepper).
- Fold in noodles and mix well.
- Heat through gently and serve warm.
Optional: Serve with pickles or cucumber salad.
