Peaches

  • 4 cups sliced peaches (fresh or canned, drained)
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg (optional)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice (optional, but classic)

🔥 Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Put the butter in a 9×13 baking dish and place it in the oven to melt.
  3. In a bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Stir in milk and vanilla until smooth.
  5. Pour batter directly over melted butterdo NOT stir.
  6. In another bowl, mix peaches, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice.
  7. Spoon peaches over the batter — again, do NOT stir.
