- 1 stick (½ cup) butter
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp salt
- ¾ cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Peaches
- 4 cups sliced peaches (fresh or canned, drained)
- ½ cup sugar
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- ¼ tsp nutmeg (optional)
- 1 tbsp lemon juice (optional, but classic)
🔥 Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Put the butter in a 9×13 baking dish and place it in the oven to melt.
- In a bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Stir in milk and vanilla until smooth.
- Pour batter directly over melted butter — do NOT stir.
- In another bowl, mix peaches, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice.
- Spoon peaches over the batter — again, do NOT stir.
- Bake 40–45 minutes, until golden brown and bubbling around the edges.
Let it cool slightly… then serve warm.
