Ingredients
Chocolate Cake
- 1ΒΎ cups all-purpose flour
- ΒΎ cup cocoa powder
- 2 cups sugar
- 1Β½ tsp baking powder
- 1Β½ tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- Β½ cup vegetable oil
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup hot coffee or hot water
Caramel Cream Filling
- 1 cup heavy cream
- Β½ cup caramel sauce (thick)
- 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
Chocolate Frosting
- Β½ cup butter, softened
- 2Β½ cups powdered sugar
- β cup cocoa powder
- 3β4 tbsp milk or cream
- 1 tsp vanilla
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350Β°F (180Β°C). Grease two round pans.
- Mix all dry cake ingredients. Add eggs, milk, oil, vanilla.
Slowly stir in hot coffee/water. - Bake 30β35 minutes. Cool completely.
- Beat cream cheese, caramel sauce, and cream until smooth and fluffy.
- Beat frosting ingredients until creamy.
- Assemble: cake layer β caramel cream β cake layer.
- Frost with chocolate frosting. Drizzle extra caramel on top if desired.
