Cake
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- ½ cup cocoa powder
- 1 cup water

- 2 large eggs

- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
Topping
- 2 cups mini marshmallows
Chocolate Frosting
- ½ cup unsalted butter
- ¼ cup milk
- ¼ cup cocoa powder
- 3–4 cups powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract

- Prep
Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease a 9×13-inch pan. - Make the Cake Batter
In a saucepan, melt butter with cocoa and water. Bring just to a boil, then remove from heat.
Stir in sugar. Let cool slightly, then add eggs and vanilla.
Fold in flour and salt. Stir in nuts if using. - Bake
Pour batter into pan.
Bake 30–35 minutes, until set but still fudgy. - Add Marshmallows
Remove cake from oven and immediately sprinkle marshmallows on top.
Return to oven 3–5 minutes until puffed. - Frosting
Heat butter, milk, and cocoa until smooth.
Remove from heat, whisk in powdered sugar and vanilla.
Pour frosting over hot marshmallows and spread gently.
