Golden, crunchy chicken tossed in a sticky-sweet garlic sauce—better than takeout and ready fast!


🛒 Ingredients

Chicken

  • 1 lb (450 g) chicken breast or thighs, cut into bite-size pieces
  • Salt & black pepper, to taste
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup cornstarch
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • Oil, for frying (or air-frying option below)

Honey Garlic Sauce

  • ⅓ cup honey
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar (or rice vinegar)
  • 1 tbsp ketchup (optional, for depth)
  • 1 tsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (slurry)

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Prepare the Chicken

  1. Season chicken with salt and pepper.
  2. Beat egg in a bowl and coat chicken.
  3. Mix cornstarch and flour; dredge chicken until well coated.

2. Fry Until Crispy

  • Heat oil to 350°F (175°C).
  • Fry chicken in batches 4–5 minutes until golden and crispy.
  • Drain on paper towels.

(Air Fryer: Spray coated chicken lightly with oil. Air fry at 390°F / 200°C for 14–16 minutes, shaking halfway.)

3. Make the Sauce

  1. In a pan, combine honey, garlic, soy sauce, vinegar, and ketchup.
  2. Simmer 2–3 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Stir in cornstarch slurry; cook until thick and glossy.

4. Toss & Serve

  • Add crispy chicken to the sauce.
  • Toss gently until fully coated.
