
🍯🧄 Crispy Honey Garlic Chicken 🍗
Golden, crunchy chicken tossed in a sticky-sweet garlic sauce—better than takeout and ready fast!
🛒 Ingredients
Chicken
- 1 lb (450 g) chicken breast or thighs, cut into bite-size pieces
- Salt & black pepper, to taste
- 1 egg
- ½ cup cornstarch
- ¼ cup all-purpose flour
- Oil, for frying (or air-frying option below)
Honey Garlic Sauce
- ⅓ cup honey
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar (or rice vinegar)
- 1 tbsp ketchup (optional, for depth)
- 1 tsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (slurry)
👩🍳 Instructions
1. Prepare the Chicken
- Season chicken with salt and pepper.
- Beat egg in a bowl and coat chicken.
- Mix cornstarch and flour; dredge chicken until well coated.
2. Fry Until Crispy
- Heat oil to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry chicken in batches 4–5 minutes until golden and crispy.
- Drain on paper towels.
(Air Fryer: Spray coated chicken lightly with oil. Air fry at 390°F / 200°C for 14–16 minutes, shaking halfway.)
3. Make the Sauce
- In a pan, combine honey, garlic, soy sauce, vinegar, and ketchup.
- Simmer 2–3 minutes until fragrant.
- Stir in cornstarch slurry; cook until thick and glossy.
4. Toss & Serve
- Add crispy chicken to the sauce.
- Toss gently until fully coated.
