
Easy Homemade Bread 🍞✨
Ingredients
- 4 cups (500 g) all-purpose flour
- 1½ tsp salt
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 2¼ tsp (7 g) instant yeast
- 1½ cups (360 ml) warm water
- 2 tbsp olive oil or melted butter
Instructions
- Mix
- In a bowl, combine flour, salt, sugar, and yeast.
- Add warm water and oil. Mix until a soft dough forms.
- Knead
- Knead 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- First rise
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise 1 hour or until doubled.
- Shape
- Punch down, shape into a loaf, and place in a greased pan.
- Second rise
- Cover and rise 30–40 minutes.
- Bake
- Bake at 180°C / 350°F for 30–35 minutes until golden.
- Cool
- Cool on a rack before slicing.
Tips
- Brush top with butter for a soft crust 🧈
- For crusty bread, place a small oven-safe dish of water in the oven
