🍞 1 kg Homemade Bread (Soft Inside, Crispy Crust)

Ingredients

  • 1 kg all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1½ tbsp salt
  • 2 tbsp instant yeast (or 25 g fresh yeast)
  • 600–650 ml warm water
  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil or olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
  2. Add warm water and oil. Mix until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead 10–12 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise 1–1½ hours until doubled.
  5. Punch down dough and shape into a large loaf (or divide into 2 loaves).
  6. Place in a greased pan or on a baking tray.
  7. Cover and let rise again 30–40 minutes.
  8. Preheat oven to 200°C / 390°F.
  9. Bake 35–45 minutes until golden and hollow-sounding when tapped.
  10. Brush with butter or water for a soft crust. Cool before slicing.
