
🍲 Amish Hamburger Steak Bake
Classic Amish Comfort Food
Ingredients
- 1½ lb ground beef
- 1 cup crushed saltine crackers (or breadcrumbs)
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
Gravy
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
For Baking Dish
- 2 cups sliced potatoes or cooked egg noodles (optional, traditional variation)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish.
- In a bowl, mix ground beef, crackers, onion, egg, salt, and pepper.
- Shape into oval hamburger steaks and arrange in the baking dish.
- (Optional) Place potatoes or noodles around the steaks.
- In a bowl, whisk broth, cream of mushroom soup, and Worcestershire sauce.
- Pour gravy evenly over everything.
- Cover with foil and bake 60 minutes.
- Uncover and bake 15 minutes more until bubbly and cooked through.
- Rest 5 minutes before serving.
