
🍫 Chocolate Pound Cake (Loaf Style)
Rich, Moist & Decadent
Ingredients
- 1 cup (225 g) unsalted butter, softened
- 1½ cups (300 g) granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs, room temperature
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1½ cups (190 g) all-purpose flour
- ½ cup (50 g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ cup milk or heavy cream
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C). Grease and line a loaf pan.
- Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla.
- In a bowl, whisk flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- Add dry ingredients to batter alternately with milk, mixing just until combined.
- Pour batter into pan and smooth the top.
- Bake 60–70 minutes, until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
- Cool in pan 15 minutes, then transfer to a rack to cool completely.
Optional Glaze
- ½ cup powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder
- 2–3 tbsp milk
Mix and drizzle over cooled cake.
