Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4–5 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • Salt & black pepper, to taste
  • ½ tsp paprika or Italian seasoning
  • 1 tbsp oil or butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish.
  2. Heat oil in a skillet. Cook ground beef with onion and garlic until browned; season with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  3. In a bowl, mix cream of mushroom soup with milk.
  4. Layer half the potatoes in the baking dish. Top with half the beef, then half the soup mixture and cheese.
  5. Repeat layers.
  6. Cover with foil and bake 45 minutes.
  7. Uncover and bake 15–20 minutes until potatoes are tender and cheese is golden.
  8. Rest 5 minutes before serving.
