Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, cream butter, cream cheese, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in egg and vanilla.
  4. In another bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips.
  7. Scoop dough onto baking sheet, spacing cookies apart.
  8. Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
  9. Let cool on the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a rack.
