Here’s a simple and versatile Fried Rice recipe—perfect as a quick meal or to use up leftover rice.


Ingredients

  • 3 cups cooked rice (preferably day-old)
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2–3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 cup mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, bell peppers, corn, etc.)
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2–3 tbsp soy sauce (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tsp sesame oil (optional)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional: cooked chicken, shrimp, or tofu
  • Optional garnish: chopped green onions
