🍽️ Slow Cooker Mushroom Chicken

👩‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. (Optional) Sear the Chicken:
For extra flavor, lightly season the chicken with salt and pepper and sear it in a skillet with a bit of olive oil or butter until golden on both sides. Totally optional, but adds great flavor.
  2. Add to Slow Cooker:
Place chicken breasts in the bottom of the slow cooker.
  3. Make the Sauce:
In a bowl, mix the cream of mushroom soup, dry onion soup mix, chicken broth, and mushrooms. Pour over the chicken.
  4. Cook:
    • On LOW for 6–7 hours
    • Or on HIGH for 3–4 hours
(Until chicken is tender and cooked through)
  5. Finish with Sour Cream:
Stir in the sour cream during the last 15–20 minutes of cooking for a rich, creamy finish.
  6. Serve:
Spoon the creamy mushroom sauce over the chicken and serve with:
    • Mashed potatoes
    • Rice
    • Egg noodles
    • Or even over toasted bread
  7. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

💡 Tips:

  • Add a handful of spinach or peas at the end for color and veggies.
  • Can also use cream of chicken or cream of celery for a twist.
  • Leftovers are amazing the next day!
