
🍋 Lemon Cream Cheese Bread
Ingredients
Bread Batter
- 1½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- ½ cup vegetable oil (or melted butter)
- ½ cup milk or yogurt
- Zest of 1 lemon
- 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Cream Cheese Swirl
- 120 g (4 oz) cream cheese, softened
- ¼ cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp flour
Optional Lemon Glaze
- ½ cup powdered sugar
- 1–2 tbsp lemon juice
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease a loaf pan.
- Mix bread batter:
- In a bowl, whisk eggs and sugar.
- Add oil, milk, lemon juice, zest, and vanilla.
- Mix in flour, baking powder, and salt until smooth.
- Cream cheese layer:
- Beat cream cheese, sugar, egg, and flour until creamy.
- Assemble:
- Pour half the batter into the pan.
- Spoon cream cheese mixture over it.
- Add remaining batter. Swirl gently with a knife.
- Bake 45–55 minutes, until a toothpick comes out mostly clean.
- Cool completely. Drizzle with lemon glaze if desired.

- Store in the fridge for extra freshness
- You can make it lighter using Greek yogurt instead of oil
