🇭🇺 Kiffles… A Christmas Tradition (Hungarian Kifli Cookies)


👩‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. Make the dough:
    In a bowl, mix flour and salt.
  2. Add cold butter and cream cheese, then knead into a soft dough.
  3. Divide into 2–3 portions, wrap, and chill for at least 1–2 hours.

  1. Prepare filling:
    Mix walnuts with sugar, vanilla, and enough milk to form a thick paste.
    (Or use jam directly.)

  1. Shape the kiffles:
    Roll out chilled dough thinly.
  2. Cut into small squares or triangles.
  3. Add a small spoon of filling.
  4. Roll into crescent shapes.

🔥 Bake:

  • Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F)
  • Bake for 12–15 minutes until lightly golden

  1. While still warm, dust generously with powdered sugar
