  1. Prepare sponge batter:
    Beat egg yolks with half the sugar and vanilla until creamy.
  2. In another bowl, beat egg whites with salt, then gradually add remaining sugar until stiff peaks form.
  3. Fold egg whites gently into yolks.
  4. Fold in ground walnuts and flour carefully.

    Pour into a greased cake pan.

🔥 Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 25–30 minutes. Let cool, then slice into 2–3 layers.


  1. Prepare syrup (optional):
    Heat water and sugar until dissolved. Add rum or lemon juice and cool.
  2. Lightly brush cake layers to keep them moist.

    Beat butter with powdered sugar until fluffy.
  2. Add egg yolks, vanilla, and rum, and mix until smooth.

    Spread cream between layers and over the top and sides.
