- Activate yeast:
Mix yeast with lukewarm milk and sugar. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
- Make the dough:
In a bowl, combine flour and salt. - Add yeast mixture and oil, then knead into a soft, elastic dough.
- Let it rise:
Cover and let the dough rise for about 1 hour, until doubled in size.
- Shape the lángos:
Divide dough into pieces.
Stretch each piece by hand into a flat oval or round shape (don’t use a rolling pin).
- Fry:
Heat oil in a deep pan.
Fry each piece for 2–3 minutes per side until golden and puffed.
Drain on paper towels.
